Mr. Jamie Binns graduated number three in the academic ranking as an Honor Graduate of Sunshine High School’s Class of 2013. Mr. Binns was the only male of his class to graduate with honors; additionally he collectively received $170, 000 in scholarship awards from various postsecondary education institutions.  He made the right decision and accepted his Presidential Scholarship to attend Talladega College, The Alpha Lyrae Vega.

Mr. Binns enrolled in the institution in August 2013 with a successful high school career that adequately prepared him for college in and outside of the classroom. He was elected Freshman Class President and quickly grew to several more affiliations- Presidential Honor Society Member at Large, Presidential Scholarship Recipient, Track and Field, Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Scholar, Biology Club, Pre-Medical Honor Society,  Pre- Alumni Council, Institutional Peer Tutor, Future Business Leaders of America- Phi Beta Lambda, and Sophomore Class President. Understanding the importance of education and being an advocate of such, Mr. Binns has been honored with mentions on both President’s List and Dean’s List. He has participated in summer long interns at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and Tuskegee University displaying his ability to learn and work in various settings.

Mr. Jamie Binns is excited to begin this school year. He believes that if each student challenges him or herself in the classroom and pursues critical thinking based with facts, he or she will be able to compete in a globally diverse society. Upon seeking presidential candidacy, Mr. Binns understood the demands and concerns of the student body per his prior involvement with students and institutional employees. Hence, he designed Talladega Renaissance. Talladega Renaissance is a student body movement that is designed to develop and showcase the True Talladegan in each enrolled student at Tallagea College. Talladega Renaissance has subdivisions and initiatives to ensure its success among the students.
